The Watson Health - Testing & Evaluation Oncologist will provide clinical leadership in the design, development, execution and evaluation of formative and summative research for the WFO clinical decision support system. This professional will work under the supervision of the VP and Director of the WH Evaluation Research Center and collaborate closely with the Center's biomedical informaticians, biostatisticians, and other team members to produce rigorous research meeting standards for top tier clinical and informatics journal publication. The research is also required for iterative product improvement during product design, development and implementation. The multidisciplinary skills and experiences required will bridge patient care, care delivery, research design and analysis in oncology and clinical decision support technology. This professional will engage with key internal stakeholders and external experts, institutions and organizations to inform the quality of the Center's research and outputs. He/she will help develop the essential research and client partnerships required to execute the research agenda. The role also includes helping to address research questions and concerns of WFO research partners and collaborators. This professional will participate with the Center's study leaders in producing high quality manuscripts, abstracts and presentations that involve the Center's research and will provide clinical expertise to WFO's publication work. He/she will support compliance with accrediting and certifying bodies and federal, state and local agencies on medical consent, IRB requirements and ethical requirements in the conduct of research and dissemination of results.
This Medical Oncologist has responsibilities in three overarching areas;
Provide expertise and leadership in clinical, study design and evaluation methods to advance the excellence and impact of the Center's research on product quality and outcomes.
Lead or support the development of essential internal and external partnerships and collaborations to execute the Center's research agenda.
Lead or support the creation of high quality manuscripts, abstracts and presentations on the Center's research in leading medical and informatics publications, conferences and other forums.
Develop Product Insights:
Provide broad and strategic oncology expertise to offering management and innovation teams to inform high value solution development/improvements and intuitive, seamless workflow design.
Collaborate among quality management and product offerings teams to ensure quality and safety of solutions.
Execute Client Opportunity:
Provide broad oncology expertise for key customer engagements during use case definition and solution design and implementation.
Facilitate opportunities of collaborations by brokering trust and understanding among key industry, academic, professional organization and government stakeholders.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
MD or DO required
At least 5 years’ experience working in a healthcare enterprise in applied clinical research and data analytics roles
At least 3 years’ experience working in senior clinical role in healthcare industry or health IT setting
Two or more years in medical practice post residency; contemporary clinician who understands major trends in oncology patient care, oncology care delivery, health IT / oncology and broad understanding of workflow and clinical care challenges in oncology practice settings
Three or more years of experience in clinical care research applying study design, evaluation and publication skills that have informed the practice of oncology based on data and evidence-preferably involving decision support.
Experience in informing design and development of innovative healthcare / oncology solutions using technology, data, and new models of care
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Biomedical Informatics degree at bachelor's or graduate level
