Job Description:

Specialized Clinical Educator will support the 3East DBT program in the implementation of curriculum instruction and in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. In addition to teaching daily DBT skills classes, Educators provide DBT skills coaching to residents and ensure the consistent execution of each individuals treatment plan in both structured and unstructured times in the schedule. They will model appropriate social cues and milieu/group participation and facilitate clients in doing the same. In addition, they will perform supervisory and technical duties as assigned in the classroom and be responsive to issues presented in supervision.

The Specialized Clinical Educator will maintain a commitment to professional growth and competency to exhibit positive behavior towards clients, parents, and staff. The 3East DBT program has been around for 10 years providing intensive treatment for adolescent and college-age girls diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. The program extends McLeans leadership in BPD treatment, research, training and public awareness. While this treatment addresses a critical need within the national mental health landscape, it provides staff an opportunity to learn the most effective treatment skill set to work effectively with a such a vulnerable population of adolescents residing in a hospital treatment setting.

* Bachelors degree required, significant experience working with emotionally/ behaviorally disturbed adolescents preferred and teaching/tutoring experience helpful

* All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
