Description:\r\rPOSITION SUMMARY\\:\rTo be fully engaged in providing Uncompromised\rSafety, Superior Quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial\rStewardship, the associate clinical coordinator acts on a facility level to\rassist the system clinical pharmacy manager in planning, developing and\rcoordinating clinical pharmacy services and ensuring that the department of\rpharmacy provides optimal clinical services on a daily basis at their institution.  The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist facilitates\rthe development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote\rdesirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, cost-effective drug\rtherapies.\r\r
\r\rPRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES\\:\r\r
\r\r Assists in the implementation of HF\r mission and execution of the overall strategic goals as described by\r senior leadership\r Acts under the direction of the\r system clinical pharmacy manager and as such, keeps him/her informed on\r the progress and status of objectives and action plans\r In conjunction with system clinical\r pharmacy manager, is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating\r goals and objectives for clinical pharmacy\r Maintains a positive, open and\r effective relationship with the medical staffs, hospital management teams\r and all levels of personnel through open communication utilizing effective\r written and verbal skills.\r Work diligently to increasingly\r engage, provide tools of engagement, and raise issues of engagement with\r pharmacy\r Disseminates best practice\r information obtained from outside resources and across Health First\r Prepares and presents drug reviews,\r Medication Use Evaluation (MUE) criteria, antibiotic sensitivity reports,\r adverse drug reaction reports, and pharmacy interventions to appropriate\r committees\r Reviews the use of targeted\r medications for compliance with current pharmacoeconomic programs\r Facilitates the development and\r implementation of treatment guidelines, protocols, formulary changes, and\r critical pathways as approved by appropriate committees.\r Monitors medication therapy\r regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food\r interactions, adverse drug reactions, and appropriateness of medication\r therapy.\r Maintains current pharmacist\r licensure.\r Participates in quality improvement\r activities both within pharmacy and interdepartmental where appropriate\r Collects and analyzes data and\r maintains documentation of clinical activities\rEvaluates methodologies, systems and programs of\rclinical pharmacy/medication therapy and implements necessary changes to\rachieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness that will result in improved\rpatient care.\r\rQualification:\rQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED\\:Graduated from accredited college of pharmacy. Must possess a Pharm.D. degreePreferred ASHP Accredited Residency or 2 Years of Clinical Pharmacy ExperienceLicense to practice in the state of Florida by the Board of PharmacyHours may be long and irregular; includes evening, weekends, and holidays as necessary.Excellent human relations skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent communication skillsExcellent troubleshooting abilitiesStrong computer skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS\\:Repetitive use of hands and fingers. Good hand and wrist dexterity to enable typing and/or computer work for >8 hours/day.Good eyesight to read labels/prescriptions, graduated containers of fluids, to count tabs, capsules.Good hearing to understand phone instructions/orders, customers and those in which the position depends.Ability to work in noisy distracting atmosphere, to handle frequent interruptions, to adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.Handle large volumes of work for long periods of time.Walk, bend, stoop, twist, sit, stand for long periods of time, >8 hours a day.May require lifting and carrying light loads (Up to 40 lbs.)

The first new services added in the Health First family were Health First Medical Group, opening in late 1995, and Health First Health Plans, opening in January 1996. Since then, we’ve also added, Holmes Regional Trauma Center, VitalWatch- Central Florida's only electronic Intensive Care Unit, Viera Hospital, and many other services to our family.
