Clinical Research SpecialistTMC HospitalJob DescriptionPosition is responsible for coordinating the MHHS initial protocol review and approval process in accordance with MHHS policies and procedures for assigned clinical research studies.Standard process includes protocol and consent form review, tracking of IRB status, assessment of hospital procedure costs and charges, and steps for final Executive review and signature.Assures resolution of outstanding issues and completion of MHHS review and approval process.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor\u2019s degree in nursing or healthcare related field preferred.Three to five years clinical research experience.\u00a0Knowledge of ICH Good Clinical Practices for clinical research, IRB functions and processes, federal regulations pertaining to human subject research.\u00a0Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.Ability to work with health care professionals at all levels.Proficient computer and skills.Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions; delivers on our brand promise of \u201cwe advance health\u201d through innovation, accountability, empowerment, collaboration, compassion and results while ensuring one Memorial Hermann.Principle Accountabilities:Coordinates the MHHS initial protocol review and approval process in accordance with MHHS policies and procedures.Insures that the review process progresses within a reasonable timeframe; insures that all appropriate Hospital facilities and Hospital Departments are included in the review and approval process.Brings study operational issues to the Director in timely fashion to determine a resolution.Coordinates review of amended protocols when necessary.Uses good time management and organizational skills to track and follow-up on assigned studies.Assures resolution of outstanding issues and completion of the MHHS review and approval process.Insures that protocol review and approval procedures are in accordance with MHHS policies.Works closely with Investigators, Research Nurses, and Administrators to assure a complete and timely review is conducted.Educates Hospital and University personnel on standard procedures as necessary.Participates in leading the process for applicants of Research Credentialing.Participates in in-service and training programs for Memorial Hermann Hospital\u2019s and University of Texas Health Science Center \u2013 Houston clinical research faculty and staff.Contributes to identifying process issues, and proposing solutions.Develops and institutes good clinical practices guidelines for performing research procedures.Adheres to all MHHS policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
