The Division of Neuromuscular Disorders in the Department of Neurology is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join a very active clinical research program with multiple ongoing research studies. The primary focus of the work will be on investigator-initiated research in the fields of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and myasthenia gravis (MG). The clinical research coordinator will work closely with other coordinators, research assistants, data manager, statistician, clinical staff and the principal investigator. To effectively perform in this position, the Clinical Research Coordinator will ideally have experience working on investigator-initiated clinical research projects, to be able to work independently with minimal supervision and to function effectively as part of a team.
Acquire an in-depth understanding of the research program and the details of specific research projects
Acquire and maintain IRB approval for research studies as needed, including drafting protocol revisions, writing informed consent documents, developing and updating manual of procedures and case report forms. Recruit and enroll study participants, coordinate study visits, and assist with collection and quality control of study data. Maintain accurate and complete source documents and case report forms; assist with data entry into research database. Participate in patient/community outreach activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the PI.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in healthcare or related field is required. Three years of prior clinical research experience, preferably within the field of Neurology/Neuroscience and working on investigator-initiated clinical research projects. Must be comfortable interacting with patients and study participants via telephone and in person. Must also have experience with the regulatory aspects of clinical research. Excellent organizational as well as verbal and written communication skills are essential. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certification(s) and/or work experience may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority.
