Cytotechnologist','200362','Cytology','Washington-Seattle','Days','40 hours per week','40 hours per week','9:30- 6:00pm','9:30- 6:00pm','Monday - Friday','Monday - Friday','','','!*!In this Cytotechnologist role you will provide preparation and accurate microscopic screening of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens for the purpose of detecting and diagnosing the presence or absence of cancerous and pre-cancerous cell changes and other pathological conditions, and provide clinicians with accurate results in a timely manner to assist them with optimal patient care. Located in Seattle, WA, Virginia Mason is an internationally recognized leader in the continuous improvement of health care. This position requires extensive knowledge of different cell types and the ability to recognize subtle, negative, and atypical cell changes, the ability to do quiet, careful, prolonged work at a microscope, the ability to make difficult decisions in diagnosing numerous cases screened during the day, and the ability to work well with staff members while obtaining FNA materials.

A 4 year college degree is required for this position, as well as a 1 year certificate at an accredited school of cytotechnology, and passing the National Cytology Registry exam.
